According to public holiday schedules released by China's State Council, 2022 Mid-Autumn Festival holiday is September 10 to 12.

Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night. People in China will gather with their family to appreciate the moon and eat mooncake. Also, there are other activities in this day, like dragon and lion dances, lantern riddles and so on.

There are many folklore and le about the Mid-Autumn Day. "Chang'e flying to the moon" is one of the them.

One day, the Queen of Heaven presented Hou Yi an elixir which, if taken, would help him to ascend immediately to heaven and become a god.

Hou Yi took it home and asked Chang'e to keep it. Unfortunately, a villain named Pangmeng got to know this, broke into their home and demanded Chang'e hand over the elixir while Hou Yi was out hunting.

In a moment of desperation, Chang'e swallowed the elixir. Reluctant to leave her husband, Chang'e tried her best to fly to the moon, the nearest place to the earth in heaven.
